I took the liberty of changing the usual “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend” to my own saying, as bags are my soft spot. You can never have enough of them as a wide range of colors, forms, sizes, textures and designers labels always give excuses for “needing“ a new one. The notion of needing is quite extreme when you think about it. How much do we really neeeeeeed a new bag? Apart from the fact that for some it is a real therapy to buy bags (;-) we call it retail therapy), could we define it as a need to fit in? These new social pressures brought by terms such as “must-have bag” or “it-bag” gave a bright new meaning to the idea of needing a bag. We could say that these new expressions give the (false) idea that to fit in or to reach a certain standard or style, one must own one (or more) of these so-called it-bags. To hell with these standards, to buy a bag, in my view, should be nothing more than a personal treat and a guilty pleasure!
Take a look at some of my favorite ones….of the moment of course…. ;-)
A new color for a new season. To be completely true, I adooore every single declination of this Mulberry bag designed by fashionista Alexa Chung (who is btw my ultimate fashion idol)
Mulberry continued with the “satchel “style initiated by the Alexa Model. The Tillie comes in various color and fabrics to suit all tastes for a feminine look.
Fan of this Celine Mini Shopper bag, which comes in many different colors and reflects only elegance and taste in a very low-key manner.
A clutch that meets a briefcase. A very original and well though mix by Asos.
Have been loving this bag for few seasons now. Can’t get enough of this feminine and delicate model by Valentino.
This is of course not an exhaustive list as I could go on and on……

So right , having an IT-bag is good for a mood uplift, having a new hair-do was an earlier method. But who has a hair-do these days anyway !
An IT bag lasts a little longer then a hair-do...slightly longer...
