Word has it, that the new Creative Director chosen by Dior to replace John Galliano is........
Riccardo Tisci!!!!!!
We had our small doubt about it as it came as quite logical for the French Maison to choose this talented Italian designer which has brought so much to an other French Maison, Givenchy. The news was confirmed by Harper’s Bazaar editor, Derek Blasberg which declared on Twitter: "I was just told backstage at the @KatyPerry concert (of all places!) that Riccardo Tisci is CONFIRMED at Dior".
Let's take the occasion for a small reminder on the designer's route to success....
Originate from the south of Italy, Riccardo has been brought up in a family surrounded by women to then leave the nest for London were he graduate from the famous Central Saint Martins School. When, in 2005, he took the lead of the designs at Givenchy, he was nearly unknown from the public. However, he quickly stood up, as he brought the brand back up from its ashes, proposing a rejuvenated look while respecting the brand's soul.
And, now, what could be a best consecration than to succeed to Galliano as Creative Director of Dior! We wish him great success and hope he will perpetuate the dream of Dior's designs.
As that is said, one important question remains........... Who will replace Tisci at Givenchy???
Rumor has it already, that Haider Ackermann could be the ideal candidate!
We will just have to wait and see I guess....Fashion musical chair games continues...
