More than 4’000 cities participated to an initiative launched by the WWF this Saturday, in a joint effort to show their will to fight global warming by turning off the lights of their emblematic landmarks at the same time. (Inhabitants were also invited to turn off their lights between 20H30 and 21h30.)
Not only was it a good symbol, illustrating the fact that we are all in this together and that we are aware of the menace and ready to take a common and worldwide action, the event gave an occasion for breathtaking before and after pictures, giving us the opportunity to look a night views of cities we had never seen that way before. You will notice that they carry a certain "end of the world" feeling, depicting quite ghostly cities.
Lights Off!!
Plus, you will find here below a video in which de WWF explains the "Earth Hour" concept!
