The Tale Of A Fairy by Karl Lagerfeld

After having unveiled three commercials for the ice-cream brand Magnum starring Rachel Bilson, multi-tasker Karl Lagerfeld, treats us with a new cinematic venture: “The Tale of a Fairy”.

The 30-minute film is imagined, written and directed by him and accompanies Chanel’s latest Cruise collection which will be shown in Cap D’Antibes tonight. As for the short movie, it will air on Chanel’s website tomorrow night.

Associating a new collection with a small movie of that sort in way challenges once more boundaries between various means of expression and creations, while emerging us in a real “Chanel Universe”. In the short film, you will find Karl’s usual muses as Anna Mouglalis, Kirsten McMenamy, Amanda Harlech and Freja Beha. Also, you will notice that the production carries a dramatic feel depicting a world full of sins and complicated relations. As Karl Lagerfeld explains himself “ It is a movie about an ill-advised use of money which begins with violence and ends with feeling” while he adds “ Some people may be shocked”.

Before seeing the full film tomorrow night, take a look at a small preview.
