Coachella!!

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival more commonly called Coachella, is a three-day annual music and arts festival which is organized by Goldenvoice and held at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California. Happening in a desert setting, the event features many genres of music from alternative rock to electronic music, while also large sculptural art. A number of stages/tents are set up with each of them playing live music continuously.

This year, Coachella was held on the 15th, 16th and 17th of April, being the first event kicking off the Festival Season. The very large number of artists and bands performed included names such as: Cee Lo Green, Kings of Leon, Monarchy, The Chemical Brothers, Arcade Fire, Empire of the Sun, Raphael Saadiq, The Kills, Kanye West, etc etc…. I guess only this very limited list of names might have given you an illustration of the immensity of this event in the musical world, which gives the opportunity to the lucky spectators of watching live a condensation of some of the best in the music industry.

While the importance of this event in the musical field isn’t to be discussed, another aspect of it is attracting interest and that is, the fashion encountered during the Festival. As a matter of fact, Coachella has become little by little a somewhat fashion event as well, with the outfits of the celebrities encountered there, starred at and looked at for inspiration. As mentioned in one of my previous article (click here to read), the festival style is quite particular and while it looks spontaneous and scruffy, it is in reality quite thought through. For my part, I love the bohemian Festival style as it breathes holidays and relaxing state of mind with a very obvious hippie inspiration. While some go for a grunge look, others become real modern hippies... Also, you will always find the very sophisticated ones which will try to seem more low-key to stick to the "Festival style" without really looking natural....

I would have loved to go to the Festival this year, but as I wasn’t able too, I look at pictures instead to try and gasp some of the atmosphere. Take a look at my favorite styles pulled off by a few celebrities who attended the event.
