Last night, Christies held an auction at the Rockfeller Center in New York to raise money for the second annual Bid to Save The Earth initiative. The aim of the event, at which many celebrities attended, was to raise awareness of the environmental problems facing the planet. The money earned during the evening will be given to four environmental organizations: Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), Central Park Conservancy, Conservation International and Oceana.
Alongside the auction, looks from brands such as Derek Lam, Burberry, Marc Jacobs and Stella MacCarthney were featured on a catwalk. Regarding the lots, they included a four-night stay in LA and lunch with Harrison Ford, a trip to Paris for the Chanel couture show and a meeting with Karl Lagerfeld (lucky is the one who got that one right??) and a gourmet trip through New York, Paris, Provence and Tuscany with chef Alain Ducasse. Quite unusual lots for a Christie’s auction right?
Chartiy met fashion once more on that evening, not only by the models and outfits which strolled down the runway, but because of the stylish celebrities that were present…
Take a look at my two favorite looks!
Olivia Palermo |
While the two of them went for a beige clutch and a knee-lenght skirt/dress, their looks couldn't be more opposite as Diane's was all about simplicity, sobriety and volumes, and Olivia's about mixing prints and motifs. Love the elegance and feminity of Diane's look and the audace and style-daring of Olivia's. Both are very youthful looks, perfectly in the trends... I would add a major plus to Diane's loose braid as it adds a low-key and cool aspect to the more formal outfit.
