MAJOR TREND: The Polka Dots!
Marc Jacobs' gimmick for the season, as seen on his ready-to-wear F/W 2011-2012, is the polka dot, which the designer declined on most of the looks, on all textures and materials, from lace to latex.
After his neo-70’s show last year, this one came out as quite the opposite as the looks and the show in its entity were much stricter as mechanical and frozen silhouettes were strolling down the runway. Due to its cooperation, with the British institution, House of Harlot, Marc Jacobs was offered a world of plastic with illusions looking to be the name of the game of this show as the mirrors used in background created a “house of ice” kind of set.
The collection could be described as chic and edgy in a neo-60’s way. The mix of textures and motifs (tweed embellished by polka dots fur, straight skirt recovered by polka dots glitter) as well as the originality of the silhouettes acted as a real mirror of Marc Jacobs’ usual imagination and audacity.
Take a glimpse at some of my favorite looks from the show!
Plus, if I may, I suggest this "paillette-embellished wool sweater" by l'Agence, to follow Marc Jacob's trend with style! ( Available on http://www.net-a-porter.com/ by clicking here)
